About the project
The “Music-Evoked Stories” is exactly what it says on the tin: stories evoked by the music. More thoroughly, this is an art experiment turned into an audio-visual installation. The main focus of the project is the exploration of human associations to music: Do our minds retreat from reality while we listen to a musical piece? What places our thoughts travel to when the sounds absorb us?
Since this is an artistic undertaking, the project does not seek to provide any solid, scientific findings. The “Music-Evoked Stories” is merely a journey in the personal, subjective experiences of Thessalonian men and women from different ages and backgrounds; a somewhat surreal journey inspired by wonderful music.
About the team
The team behind the “Music-Evoked Stories” consists of various artists and people with passion for the arts. Initially it was founded by director of photography Zoi Dalaina, who invited musician Ralitza Ivanova to develop and realise the idea. Subsequently, the two attracted associates from the city of Thessaloniki: writers, teachers, actors, a costume designer and a journalist. All of them have contributed to various stages of the project and continue to do so to date. Moreover, musicians from several countries including Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Singapore, Spain, the UK and the USA have submitted their original recordings, which are essential to the project.
